The festival is brought to the public by Cincinnati Experimental Arts.

Fringe theatre is a term used to describe alternative theatre, or entertainment not of the mainstream. In London fringe theatre is the equivalent of New York's off-Broadway theatre. There are also many unjuried theatre festivals which are often called fringe festivals. These festivals, held in Minneapolis, Edinburgh, Adelaide, Edmonton, Winnipeg and elsewhere permit artists to produce a wide variety of interesting works.
